Category:Category main article does not match category title

This is an administrative category, used for maintenance of the Wikipedia project. It is not part of the encyclopedia and contains non-article pages, or groups articles by status rather than subject. Do not include this category in content categories (except for eponymous maintenance categories).

This is a tracking category. It builds and maintains a list of pages primarily for the sake of the list itself. They are not part of the encyclopedia's categorization scheme.

• This category is hidden on its member pages—unless the corresponding user preference (Appearance → Show hidden categories) is set.
• These categories can be used to track, build and organize lists of pages needing "attention en masse" (for example, pages using deprecated syntax), or that may need to be edited at someone's earliest convenience.
• These categories also serve to aggregate members of several lists or sub-categories into a larger, more efficient list (discriminated by classifications).

This category may be empty occasionally or even most of the time.

This category generates a list of pages using {{Category main article}} where the target link does not match the name of the category. In many cases, this is intentional and not a problem. However, there are three potential problem reasons that the category title and main article title do not match:

1. The target is incorrect, either because of a typographical error, vandalism or the hatnote was copied from another category without the target being changed.
2. The main article has been renamed but the category has not yet been updated. Tracking this is useful for finding categories that may need renaming.
3. The template is being used to link to a page that is not the main article, and another hatnote (such as {{Category more}}) may be more appropriate.
